Key Responsibilities
Operate Vehicles
Drive and operate a variety of heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including flatbeds and lowboys, to transporting equipment and products.
Delivery
Ensure on-time delivery of products and equipment to designated locations, adhering to scheduled delivery times and routes.
Load and Unload
Assist with the loading and unloading of products and equipment using appropriate techniques to ensure safety and prevent damage.
Vehicle Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
Safety Compliance
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, including DOT regulations.
Customer Interaction
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including communicating with customers about delivery schedules and handling any delivery issues.
Documentation
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs, receipts, and any required delivery documentation.
Route Planning
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, considering factors such as traffic, road conditions, and customer locations.
Qualifications
- Licensing: Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably with experience in transporting large or heavy goods.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects; manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to operate loading and unloading equipment.
- Safety-Minded: Commitment to maintaining high safety standards on the road and during delivery processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Precast Products: Previous experience in transporting precast concrete or similar construction materials.
- Equipment Handling: Proficiency in operating forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with local delivery routes and job sites in Utah.
Work Conditions
Schedule
Full-time position with potential for overtime; typical hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend or evening work as needed.
Environment
Primarily outdoor work, including exposure to various weather conditions; significant time spent driving.
