PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Harper Companies undertook a significant infrastructure project contracted by Wadsworth, focusing on the construction of a new bridge and associated roadway enhancements. The project entailed expanding the existing roadway to accommodate six lanes of concrete, facilitating smoother traffic flow from Route 201 North to Interstate 80. Key components included the construction of on and off ramps directly connecting to I-80, essential for improving accessibility and traffic management in the area.

In addition to road expansion, the project involved extensive major road construction activities, including intricate pipe work for drainage and utility installations. Harper Companies executed a substantial earth-moving operation, relocating approximately 340,000 cubic yards of earth to prepare the site for the new infrastructure.

A notable innovation introduced by Harper Companies was the incorporation of 3×5 foam blocks in constructing the bridge—a pioneering approach in the region. These foam blocks provided structural support and insulation, enhancing the bridge’s durability and efficiency while demonstrating Harper Companies’ commitment to innovative construction techniques.

Throughout the project, Harper Companies prioritized safety, environmental stewardship, and adherence to stringent engineering standards. Their comprehensive project management approach ensured seamless coordination among various stakeholders, including engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities. By leveraging their expertise in heavy construction and infrastructure development, Harper Companies successfully delivered a transformative transportation project that improves connectivity and enhances community infrastructure for years to come.
